Tramadol & Paxil?
Does anything think I can get by some days with taking half a tramadol while I'm on paxil?
Answer:
Call any local pharmacy and ask a pharmacist, then you'll get the correct answer.
From my experience of the two drugs, dont take them at the same time . I was on Zoloft and Tramadol for PTSD and Back pain . After a month of taking them , I went to Walmart and passed out in the store and had a seizure . When i woke up in the er . I said what the hell ! They said the two meds together conflicted and I had a seizure , and could have died or had brain damage . So dont take them .
I've taken Tramadol for serious back pain (never Paxil), but my doctor suggested eliminating other drugs while on Tramadol.
Also, if you don't know this already, it's incredibly addicting physically. It's not like vicodin where you can crave the drug, it's a physical addiction, and you will need to wean yourself off of it when you're ready. You may even experience a lot of muscle pain when you go from one pill to a half - but that's a good start to weaning off of it.
I would read through the information on WebMD about both drugs and if you're still not sure, give your doctor's office a call, or even your pharmacy to see what they recommend.
Good luck!
Don't mix them...My husband just got prescribed this medication too...It says clearly on the warning label and I quote "Before using this medication tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking SSRI antidepressants and any other medications used to treat depression or anxiety due to drug interactions and increased risk of seizures". Before mixing the two..make sure that your doctor that prescribed paxil says that it is ok to mix the too. The last thing you need is a seizure.
