How much money do certain types of Doctors make?

For example, how much would a Doctor like House, (from "House" on Fox) make?

What about a Doctor with a private practice compared to a Doctor who works in a hospital?

Answer:
Anesthesiology: $306,964
Surgery, general: $255,438
Obstetrics/gynecology: $233,061
Psychiatry: $163,144
Internal medicine: $155,530
Pediatrics/adolescent medicine: $152,690
Family practice (without obstetrics): $150,267

Also note that self-employed doctors who own or are part owners of their medical practice generally have higher median incomes than salaried physicians.

Also note that earnings vary according to number of years in practice, geographic region, hours worked, and skill, personality, and professional reputation.

It can really vary depending upon if the doctor specializes in a certain type of surgery (might be much higher) or is a new doctor just starting his residency practice (might be much lower.)

Hope that helps.
i think most range from 125,000 to 650,000.

good luck lol
The character Dr. House would be pulling in big bucks for himself and the hospital. I can't give you specifics but for the first few years a doctor is living hand to mouth cuz of low income plus med school loans. Once they move into a specialty the income goes up.
at least 300,000 at most 1,000,000, but probably about 600,000
i think that doctors like that start around $125,000 and they go up
Private practice doctors typically make more than those employed by academic centers, but they may also work a lot more!

Salary ranges are vast and depend on the location of the country in which the doctor practices, the payor mix of patients in that area, his/her specialty, and how much he/she works. (I know surgeons who work ALL the time; they have no life, but lots of money.)

House is fictional. Hugh Laurie makes a lot more than any doctor does.
depends on their specialty of work...
