What are the duties of a RN working in a Dr's office?
Answer:
The R.N. gets the next room ready for a patient--she changes the paper covering of the bed, makes sure all of the instruments are sanitized, gets the medication ready for a shot when needed, takes notes on the reason to visit the doctor, gives shots and vaccinations, and makes further notes in the patient's chart. When it is necessary, she will help hold a patient down, and she does whatever the doctor wants her to do. She takes blood pressure, weighs patients, and takes temperature readings. My Mom was an R.N., and she started out in Pediactrics. I used to take my Daughter to a great Pediatrician.
Good luck and may God bless you.
A regular RN or an Advanced practice RN. A regular RN helps with the history and Physical, draws blood, gives out prescribtions, files, follow up calls to patients, teaches parents about child care.
An AP RN can see the patient without the Dr present, they can do well baby visits, write prescribtions, do hospital visits to patients in the hospital. and alot more
In general they take you back to the exam room and get general info for the doctor. They also assist as needed within their capacity.
