My Grandmother and Grandfather have diabetes and my Mom has it. She's have it since the mid 90's. It's manageable, but it take TONS of will power. You run the risk of losing your vision, problems beside your feet, oh, the document goes on and on. My Dad have cancer. He's been living next to it since 2000. It's slowly progressing. Sometimes he hurts really bad. Looking at it from both sides of the spectrum, I do not want any one to tell you the truth.

Except for a rare form of diabetes call "brittle", I would rather own that than cancer. In fact, I do own that. I've had it since 1987 and to this point own suffered none of the long-term effects, because I have controlled my blood sugar. Having diabetes is out of comparison to devastation you may have from cancer.
