What happen if you are given the wrong blood type during a transfusion?

Not counting O+.

Answer:
Your body will attack the new blood cell as if they were pathogens. The presence of antigens within the donated blood that are absent from the patient's own body cause the patient's immune system to see the donated blood as "non-self." The patient's immune system will attempt to destroy the donated blood cell, and therefore the donated blood will never fulfill its intended purpose of bolstering the amount of functioning blood cell in the patient's body.
