Describe moving parts of food metabolism please ?
Answer:
metabolism is simply the break down or synthsis of...biomolecules
food basically includes proteins, carbohydrates,fats,vitamins,an... some menerals.
metabolism of carbohydrates
most carbohydrates surrounded by food r and polysaccharides (starch) its broken down todisaccharides by alpha amylase(ptylin) which brakes about 10% to form disaccharides which are further broken down by pancreatic amylase to monosaccharides (each monosaccharide is occupied differrently ie glucose,fructose,galactose,dex... when in within the enterocytes glucose glucose breakdown starts where its fist phasphoryrated to glucose6phosphate by glucokinase ,
itsthenisomerised to fluctose6posphate by fluctose6p isomarase
its consequently phosphorylated again glucose1,6bispphosphate to form fluctose6pdepeding on the cell(erythrocytes can form glucose26bp)
its then cleaved to glyceraldehyde3p and hydroxyacetone3p by aldolase a
glyceraldehyde3p is directly phosphorylated and oxidised by NAD+ to form 1,3-bisphosphoglycerol
its after converted to 3phosphoglycerol (dephosphorylation with formation of atp)
3PG is after epimerised to 2PG which is then converted to pep(phosphoenoylpyruvate
PEPis later dephosphorylated to form pyruvate with formation of atp
in a minute depending on the condition pyruvate can enter thekrebs cycle or be turned to lactate by lactate dehydrogenase(anaerobic respiration)
if its aerobic pyruvate is oxidised with amalgamation of a CoA to form acetyl coA WHICH enters the krebs cycle ,it later condeses with oxaloacete to form citrate which turned to isocitrate by anconitase
its latter decarboxylated to alpha ketoglutarate,,,,,,
