Nope they stunk to high heavens...BUT herpies doesn't come from not taking baths or showers it's a virus.
Most people place the days of King Arthur around the 12-14 centuries. That time period does not work for a King Arthur but if he lived in that time, they did not take regular baths.
The Roman Catholic Church had suppressed all knowledge and executed any who invented new knowledge or even brought back knowledge from the much more advanced Muslims.
But if King Arthur existed around the 3-5 Centuries (A.D.) that time frame works much better for a King to unify England. Also, because of heavy trade and commerce between Europe and the Mediterranean countries (including Arab lands) people tended to bath more often. This is due in part that the Roman Catholic Church / Holy Roman Empire was just starting their reign of terror.
Regarding herpes, I can't help you there.
