What's a "classic" appendectomy call?

What's the name of a "classic" appendectomy, close to an appendectomy operation that ISN'T laparoscopic? Is there a special label for this "classic" kind of appendectomy (starting beside McBurney's incisions, etc. etc)?

Answer:
Yup, it's an open appendectomy. I close to the term "classic", though. Makes you reminisce for the accurate ol' days, before everything be done through scopes.

I prefer the classic app'y - we get to confer on the room lights on, and it's a quick and undemanding operation. It can even be done under local or spinal anesthesia (not so next to the laparoscopic variety).
No special name for classic appendicectomy.
You could differentiate it by maxim it is an "open appendectomy". But "open" be only added once laparoscopic appendectomies come in to play.
It's call an "open appendectomy."
The doctors above have already given the answer which is "Open appendectomy" or simply OA - the traditional method and the standard treatment for appendicitis. (While the laparoscopic appendectomy is simply called LA).
It is an appendectomy perform while the doc is listening to music by Chopin and/or watching foxtrot.
