What are antibiotics made up of and what can it be used for?

Answer:
An antibiotic is a chemical compound that inhibits or abolishes the growth of microorganisms, such as microbes, fungi, or protozoans. They do not work on viral infections.
Hmm that depends on the kind, penecillin is a more colloquial antibiotic derived from Penicillium mold. It's used for all kind of bacterial infections, I.E.- Strep Throat. As well as Amoxicillin, which is a more artificial antibiotic, made within a lab. More people will enjoy reactions to Amoxicillin than Penecillin because it is not as colloquial as Penecillin. Overall an antibiotic is a chemical compound use to inhibit the growth of microorganisms that cause bacterial infections.
antibiotics are made from life compounds found in molds and other germs which were found to be toxic to other organisms (bacteria) but not to humans. It is generally used to fight against infections cause by bacteria by destroying its covering membranes and exposing the organism making it incompetent to survive.
Please see the web page for more details on Bacteria and antibacterial drugs. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
First of all, in that are many classes of antibiotics, as I enjoy listed them below:

Penicillins
Cephalosporins
Macrolides
Fluoroquinolones
Sulfonamides
Tetracyclines
Aminoglycosides

Each of these treat bacterial infections (not viral), and are given to different ages for different infections. For example, it is injudicious to give fluoroquinolones to children. Another example is that Cipro is remarkably popular for urinary tract infections, but may not be perscribed for an ear infection. You would have to do your research on respectively one.
