Any suggestions for getting off paxil?

Answer:
Hello,
I have been off of it twice, once because of moving and losing my prescription and once by choice. I think it would be best to go off under a doctors care, with a gradual drop in the amount you take. The feeling I experienced was light headed and dizziness if I turned my head too fast and like the ocean was sloshing in my head. Also kind of strobe light blinky. It was an yucky unpleasant feeling, but not painful or horrible. I didn't gain weight from going off.
The more important thing is to watch your emotional state very carefully...I was weepy, moody, and basically went back to the reason emotionally of why I went on them in the first place. Sexually, I had feelings again.but I am on Paxil again because I feel that having a better quality of life was more important. Kind of a pain to have to choose. But a lower dose worked for me in that I can still have moods but not as intense and can still have sexual feelings although not as intense or as often.
So good luck with going off and be kind to yourself and have plenty of support for the physical and emotional changes you may experience.
