Gastroenterology?

Is there any benifits to becoming gastroenterologist a bit than a differant doctor i.e. heart surgon

Answers:    If it's what interests you, then that's what you choose to do. Gastroenterologists wouldn't want to be heart surgeons, and heart surgeons wouldn't want to be gastroenterologists. Totally different self-worth types. Totally different work settings. Totally different work.

I work with a gastroenterologist who occasionally admits patients to the hospital, works M-F contained by his office, and have a fairly calm life. Heart surgeons operate with vivacity and death day after day, take like mad of call, generate people bleed, and see reasonably a few of them die. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Gastroenterology is a sub-specialty of drug, and cardiothoracic surgery is a sub-specialty of surgery. Medical people and surgical citizens are quite different. If you're one type, the other pasture would likely drive you nuts.
