She obviously have an aneurysm. Unlike a stroke (blockage in the brain) she have a leak. A coma can be the body's approach of healing. Everything shuts down except critical organs. But the longer it progresses, the worse it looks. Without her waking, they enjoy no idea how much actual blight was done, the longer it take, the more damage be probably done. Remember, the brain controls everything in your body, requires alot of blood, oxygen, if that flow stopped for any length of time, disfavour occurs. The simply thing you can do is TALK, LAUGH, be positive..even when within a comatose state you can hear. You may notice the Dr. take you outside to talk, they do not want her audible range what he says. You did not state her age.
We are NOT robots, merely like a flower we age and wilt, freshly like a motor engine we wear out. We were solely designed to last so long, when that time comes no amount of medical expertise can overpower the appendage of God.

Doctors tend to agree that coma patients recuperate faster when people they are more familiarized to are around them. It seems that the sounds of their voice, their scent, and their touch helps jumpstart the brain breakers.
well i dont know any channel to wake a merson from coma but approaching what AibohphobiA said it could help the human being wake up, but if it doesent simply wait and consent to the body do what it can
I don't mean to verbs you further, but there is little you can do to aid your mother within law out of her coma. I don't know the duration to which she have been down, however if your Doctor is worried almost the time period I would guess things are not going so economically.
This may be more information that you are looking for but their have be some conventional studies with shock treatment for bringing patients out of comas. It works on a similar principle to jump starting a motor with a late battery. Something that if you be interested in you could research further. (as far as I know studies thus far hold been inconclusive)

But in wispy of what you just said, I remember reading something on the Internet almost Doctors giving Coma Patients a Sleeping Pill called (Ambient) and it have been certain to bring people right out of their coma.
That self said: I would recommend that you talk to your mum-in-law's doctor, later have him/her research this as a possible solution.
It would not hurt to research this nouns before you ask the doctor give or take a few the (Ambient Sleeping Pill)
