Is taking Heart Rate the same thing as pulse?

I taking your heart rate the same as getting your pulse?

Answer:
The way most people use the word pulse is equivalent to heart rate. However, this is not technically correct. Checking a pulse is really checking for the presence of a pulse. If you find a pulse you can use it to determine the heart rate. But, there are other reasons to find a pulse, too. Some people have peripheral vascular disease and don't have good blood flow to their feet, so we check to see if we can find pulses in their feet. If someone has an injury like a broken hip or leg, we check for pulses as a quick test to see if there's a major vascular injury.

The pulse that most people think of is in your wrist and corresponds to the radial artery, which is on the thumb side of your arm. There is also an ulnar artery pulse on the pinky side of the forearm. Other pulses include the brachial artery pulses which are best felt near the crease of your elbow. The femoral artery pulse is usually checked just under the inguinal ligament, or groin. At the ankle we check for the dorsalis pedis pulse on top of the foot and the posterior tibialis pulse on the inside of the ankle. The carotid pulses are located in the neck and correspond to the carotid arteries. Those are the major pulses used in the clinical setting, but there are many others.

So, that's a long, complicated way of saying that pulse and heart rate are not the same thing, though they are often used interchangably.
yes :)
yes
Yes and if you're good at math, you can take a 15 second count of your pulse and multiply it by 4. Helps to keep a shorter count-time because then you won't lose your place and have to start over.
yes
Yes it is. Your pulse is your heart rate. The most accurate way to count it is to count for 30 seconds and multiply by two. Some people count for 15 seconds and multiply x4 but I like the 30 x 2 better. It is more accurate.
Well, Almost all doctors measure the Pulse to determine the Heart rate because As heart pumps the blood, with every beat blood is released with some pressure. Pulse is just measuring or counting of the pressure with which the blood is pumped with every Beat! So, Heart rate is same as Pulse!
