Is there a chance you won't die if you shoot yourself in the head, and if so what would happen?

Answer:
yep all kinds of things have gone wrong. perm brain damage, total vegetable, coma, paralysis...lots of bad things you want no part of, my friend
Likely, you'd be a miserable vegetable and a burden to loved ones.
brain damage and much more horrible things unless if some crazy miracle happens
Yes. Brain damage, or being a vegatable the rest of your life is what could happen.
Yeah, there is a small Chance that u may survive a gunshot to the head. You will be a vegetable or you would get brain damage. If the brain was not injured to badly you would have to relearn to walk, talk, and use your motor functions. I wouldn't advise it!
Lots of people have survived trying to shoot themselves to death.

Some of them recover. Some of them have brain damage for the rest of their lives. Some of them are in a vegetative state for the rest of their lives.

It's not good, any way you look at it.
I'm pretty sure you would die, and if you didn't... well you would have pretty bad brain damage and wished you had died.
in my school there was a kid who shot himself in the head because he found out he had aids. he became paralyzed and brain-dead and after a week or two he died. i also looked around on the internt and found out that if you shoot yourself in the head you have almost a 90% plus chance of dieing. if you do not die then like i said you will most likely become paralyzed and brain-dead and in the end die from it. i did not find one reported case of someone shooting theirselfs in the head without any results.
I saw a Maury Povitch episode where a teenage pizza delivery guy was robbed and shot in the head. They removed about a quarter of his skull. He's doing OK, a little slower than he was, but hanging in there.
Supposedly these 'attempted suicides' happen all the time. I'd listen to Fritz Milan.
People suvive gunshot wounds to the head, but the outcome is frequently worse than death.

It all depends on what you damage. You might lose the ability to speak, you might have personality changes if you hit the frontal lobes, you could be in a vegetative state.

In any event, your life would get a whole lot worse.
How's this for one pretty picture? You blow off your face and damage enough of the frontal lobes to make you stupid, and the facial reconstruction requires a flap graft from the arm, so you spend half a year with your new face connected directly to your armpit while being fed through a tube down your throat.
I work in a hospital. I've seen one gunshot wound to the head, it was from a handgun, the bullet was sticking halfway out of the guy's head. He had a bad headache but otherwise he was fine. Kinda cranky, which is understandable, but otherwise fine.
My boss, on the other hand, saw a guy come into the hospital's ER years ago who put a shotgun to his neck and pulled the trigger. Just as he did so, his girlfriend grabbed the gun, pulling it slightly away yet the bullet still caused the front of his skull to explode, tearing off his mouth, tongue, teeth, nose, eyes. He had no brain damage but his face was gone. Can you imagine LIVING with that, knowing that its YOUR fault? Fortunately for him, he died within a month from a massive infection. But a month without a face, a month blind, a month without your sense of smell, a month on a ventilator to help you breathe, a month on a feeding tube, a month of KNOWING that you did this to yourself?
Gotta be WORSE than killing yourself. WORSE than whatever problem makes you want to kill yourself.
