it is not easy ..near is the registrar level up to that time that which can take lots of years back becomming a consultant.
It has become more difficult presently to find training posts with the Modernising Medical Careers change.
Registrar training schemes are from 4 years long plus research as you would expect. You may find there are no locally available consultant posts when you finish your hatch up, and you will probably need to be prepared to move away from your current location.
