Is Bayer good for your heart?
Answer:
Aspirin has been proven to help prevent heart disease. So I don't know what the first poster is talking about.
Before you start taking aspirin, you need to talk to your doctor to make sure there are not any reasons for you, personally, not to be taking aspirin. Otherwise, if there are no other issues or contraindications, people are typically started on low dose (baby dose) aspirin (81mg).
no asprin! ask a freaking doctor he'll set you straight, you really do need to ask a Dr!
aspirin inhibits the clotting process. No clots, no blockage at least by bloodclots, of the coronary arteries that supply the heart muscle. This helps the heart.
Bayer is a company, not a drug. If you're talking about aspirin, it's a good drug for secondary prevention of cardiovascular events, and is more important than all other treatments combined in the management of heart attacks; however, that is not a universal endorsement. If you're young and at low risk for a heart attack, the risk of GI bleeding likely outweighs any benefit. TINSTAAFL. The decision to take aspirin routinely should be made after discussion of your cardiovascular risk factors with your doctor.
it's different for everyone! Talk to your doctor before taking anything! but Aspirin thins your blood...
I'm NOT a strong advocate for Bayer as a company (they created a compound during WWII called Zyklon-B, a nerve gas that contributed to the deaths of thousands upon thousands of Jews).
Enough with the History Lesson, though
Bayer DID invent Aspirin. And Aspirin is clinically proven to prevent sudden MI's or Stroke.
The recommended dose is the low dose 81mg. I'd strongly recommend getting a STORE BRAND 81mg Aspirin, not because of Bayer's Dark Past, but because it will be LESS EXPENSIVE!
