Any med students or doctors contained by foundation progr./specialist training surrounded by the UK??

Hi, I'm an Italian Medicine Student (the nickname is virtual, lol), and I wanted to ask British Medicine Students, or even better, doctors contained by Foundation Programme or Specialist Training (I think you ring it this way contained by the UK) some questions.
Here surrounded by Italy we don't have the opportunity to swot up anything practical, you know, it's almost just proposition and books, but even when we go to a hospital during Med School, they don't edify us anything practical, e.g. suturing. The only entry they teach you, if you're lucky, is how to do an EKG.
I hear that in the UK students enjoy the chance to revise more, is that true?
And how are things in foundation programme and specialist training? These are a mess here within Italy, if you're going to specialise in Internal Medicine consequently it's ok, they teach you something, but as far as Surgery is concerned, doctors within Specialist Training aren't allowed to do anything! How are things in the UK? Thank you!
