How well adaptive to temperature extremes is the human body?

Can anyone give me some examples? (Not that I plan on sticking myself in the OVEN and baking myself at 400 degrees--mind you! lol)

Answer:
Very well adapted. Humans have one of the most advanced homeostatic (keeping your body temp the same) systems than most animals. Not only are we smart and can wear clothes, AC, etc.. But in terms of just our body dealing with temperature differences, were not very good at all with the cold without clothes, but with heat, were awesome. I heard that we have the most advanced cooling system due to our ability to sweat. Not many other animals can sweat, but as long as you drink water and are able to sweat, Im pretty sure the body can be fine in temperatures of 300 degrees or so. I saw a show on the discovery channel where this guy lasted 20 minutes in 300 degrees just by drinking water. As long as you have water to sweat, were pretty amazing.
The body adjusts through "trial and error", but it takes a long time and the temperatures the body best deals with are zero Fahrenheit to 104 Fahrenheit. If it is warmed than that one could get burns.
