Does anyone know what happened to all the bee's. why are they disappearing and why?

On the news I heard that it was caused by bees brought over from another country that were carrying a disease fatal to other bees. I was on the highway in CT the other day and I saw an 18 wheelere transporting thousands and thousands of bees in crates and netting. I guess it is pretty bad if bees are having to be brought into different parts of the country. What an interesting site that was!
