My acne prescription is making me constipated!?
My interview is, since it's not a bowel movement problem, just the problem next to my stool being to complicated, would a suppository soften my stool and create it "normal" again?
Answer:
A (let's say glycerin) suppository would not correction the consistency of your stool, it would just build it come out easier. Your best bet since you've tried Colace already may be simply to try drinking more water (I know it sounds too simple, but this will seize water into the stool too, to give support to soften it a little). Really within isn't much your MD can prescribe that will do the job outside of Colace. BUT, curiously enough I a short time ago went to a have a word tonight about a clean drug called Amitiza which might give support to you (we pharmacists do strange things). Talk to your doctor about it, especially if nil else helps you. But start near the increased water first.
Also it might serve to know which acne med you're taking.
Go see a doctor. I take a laxative, CitroMax. It's a lemon drink, it's hurtful but it helps.
I have an idea that that you should take a laxative, any compassionate. They help surrounded by the softening and getting rid of the bowel.
