How did you prepare for the MCAT,?

i was comparing the path people prepare currently for the MCAT, i took it YEARS ago.

like files used, time spent, etc.

Answer:
I bought a few books of practice tests and did four of them, so in the order of 24 hours prep in adjectives and got a 37Q.
I bought the big Kaplan review book. No courses or sets of textbook, but I did study the Kaplan book cover to cover. I studied it over a period of three months, get a 42S on the MCAT.
I took it so long ago it was below the old format, and the means of access I prepared was that I go to the city I was taking it surrounded by a day impulsive and got rip-roaring drunk. I figure I'd been within college 3 1/2 years and there be no point in doing any further studying.
Don't listen to any of these people. Yahoo are full of quacks pretending that they are doctors or medical students. Go to www.studentdoctor.network , where in that are certified medical students and doctors there who can minister to you.

Personally, I plan to take the MCATs subsequent year. I will buy the exam krackers books, take some of the AAMC practice test, study like crazy a couple of months formerly the test, and pray to God that I do all right.
Good luck.
Hardrockingjoe's advice is honourable. If you've got some bucks burning a hole within your pocket, the Kaplan or Princeton Review courses can help. Some colleges may own similar courses for considerably less money (check next to the pre-med adviser or the Testing Center). You want to discharge special attention to your chemistry knowledge. Chemistry is the single biggest contributor to the MCAT. You'll enjoy to know both general chemistry and natural chemistry. Another skill that is extremely costly is to be able to read swiftly with comprehension. Many of the question will have a reading test and a number of question about the reading. One instrument to prepare for this is to rapidly read the editorial page of a most important newspaper (like the NY Times). Your dream here is to read rapidly near comprehension. After you read a column or editorial, write down as much as you can remember about the highest points of the article. Go back & see how ably you did.
