I have to hold a gastroscopy test done, to find out if my esophagus is functioning properly, and to see what is cause my food to become temporarily stuck, or slow moving. What should I expect during this procedure? Painful?

I've have it done and they gave me a soporific that basically kept me from remembering anything that happen. It was as if I go to sleep and woke up again, but actually be still conscious when they were doing it. No spasm or discomfort at all. It be a breeze.
