Veterbra fuse?

I turned i am a guy 14 on june and i play basketball. I played basketball so i was dribbling the ball, when i took it past half cout, this guy tried to steal it from so i crossed over him, but when i did this, the guy hit me hard in the backbone accidentally. he hit me between the last cevical and the top thoracic or an area near there. The next day, a bruise grew on the area of impact, but i dont feel anything wrong in my body, no paralisis, no tickling and i can move everything form my body so my qs are:

1. shoud i b feeling a small dent between the top thoracic and last cervical?

2. can this stunt my growth?

3. can that bruise fuse my vertabrae so i would shrink or stunt my growth?

4. will i b ok?

Answers:

1) there is a "stepping off" between your last cervical the the first thoracic ( bump at base of neck). The dent you are feeling is normal.

2) will not stunt growth.

3) A bruise will not fuse vertebrae, bone or metal from surgeries only fuse vertebrae. If there are no fractures or bone damage you will be fine, if your that paranoid go to an MD and get an X-ray.

4) based on what you have stated above you will be fine, but again if your that paranoid go to you doctor.
If you have no symptoms, you should be fine. A bruise to the spine cannot stunt your growth, nor can it fuse your vertebra.

You will be fine!

If you do experience any spinal pain symptoms later, check with your physician to rule out any problems.
C7's normally prominent. Put your chin on your chest and T1's moreso, and that should "cure" the dent. Even if you chipped the vertebral process, which is unlikely with that kind of minor injury, it has nothing to do with the part of the spine that contains the cord; it's basically just an attachment for muscles, so it'll be fine. To understand this better, do a search for a picture of the bone and its relationship to the spinal cord.
