or smell a slight bit of exhaust, me entire daylight is ruined...
I need to find something I can wear --I don't precision how foolish it looks --that prevents me from smelling anything while I put it on.

Answer:
The best way to gain rid of a phobia is through systematic desensitization, slowly increasing your exposure instead of avoiding it - avoidance makes phobias worse. The more you are around the entity that causes you anxiety and no fruitless consequences occur from your exposure, your body and mind fire up to train themselves into understanding that it is non-hazardous.

First things first though, identify what kinds of ambience and physical responses occur when you are exposed to the gas - does your heart see? Do you feel the obligation to flee? etc. You need to determine exactly where on earth this stems from - did you have some character of traumatic incident revolving around gas?

It's important to find to the root of where this phobia started in the past you can move on from it.

And psychiatric therapy never hurts. You aren't crazy. They deal near this kind of entity all the time.
what are you conversation about? a phobia of the smell of gas?
i really craving i could think of something that could give a hand you. have you tried snout plugs and tape at the bottom of your nostrils so that none can take through. or maybe saran wrap? im sorry im not much comfort
idk try a gas mask?
Rub Vicks beneath your nose. Homicide investigators do it so they don't smell 2 week ripened dead bodies--it should work on gasoline.

You might inevitability a full head covering. Your eyes, mouth, and ears all hold passages into your pharynx too, so the particle you smell can sneak their way contained by there too.
Vicks sounds smart, and you can try different oil - like lavendel, or eucalyptus. Lavendel is especially devout - not only should it stop you from smelling the gas, it should also settle down you down and thus help stop the bleak feelings associated next to the smell of gas.

However, the best of all would be to catch some therapy. It won't hurt you and it's the one and only way to bring rid of this phobia for good. Please do this for yourself! Life is no fun if you can't wallow in it. :(
