Why did pediatric surgery fire up?
Answer:
As one of the more recently developed surgical specialties, pediatric surgery grew from the naming that children, and especially infants, have surgical problems distinct from those see in adults. This is because of both the native land of diseases (for example, congenital conditions) and age.
Some of the conditions that pediatric surgeons deal beside are never seen contained by adults, because babies with those conditions don't engender it adulthood lacking intervention. (tracheo-esophageal fistula, gastroschisis, etc.)
The purpose of pediatric surgery is to treat surgical problems in children. Pediatric surgeons sometimes own to operate on patients that weigh only a few pounds, and some of those patients are rather sick.
There are many anatomic and physiologic differences between children and adults, and pediatric surgeons are trained to operate with that.
