Does a Salbutamol rescue inhaler work if you are on a beta blocker?
Answers:
You shouldn't take beta blockers if you own asthma.
However, most beta blockers used for the heart are beta 1 receptor selective blockers and salbutamol is a beta 2 receptor agonist, so they won't necessarily interfere completely.
However, people near significant asthma should not take beta blockers.
finishing ninja ansewered it very okay
beta blocks also lower blood pressure ant d the ALbuterol will raise your BP - may exact problems. Don't mix 2 unless the same Dr wrote both for you at matching visit,.
There are a few non-specific betablockers (that would interfere near your use of salbutamol) used for treating heart conditions. I doubt though, given the availability of beta-1 specific blockers, that your doctor would prescribe a non-specific betablocker if you've had a history of asthma.
Most probable you've been prescribed a beta-1 specific drug, however it doesn't hurt to check beside your doctor, or if you'd like, to include the cross of your drug in this post.
