Why isn't deep-sea wet poisonous to humans ?
Answer:
It would sort of be more the same if you go swimming in soy sauce, fairly than drinking it; most likely nil would happen to you, right? If you drink profoundly of salt marine, you'll get desiccated, same as soy sauce. Not only does your skin protect you next to physical layering, it also has grease on it. Most poisons that are absorbed through the skin are designed to or, in a chemical's luggage, destructive enough to dissolve through your organic oils, but brackish isn't meant to be a poison or a defense machine, and is only bad for you when missued. Eventually your body will absorb too much dampen, but it takes a while (dead body's found within the oceans are usually water logged, and the results are gross). Well I hope that sort of clears it up for you ^_^
Because brackish - even when it's dissolved; NaCl - is waaayyyy too big to be able to "ratify freely" or be absorbed as you speak, through your skin.
It might, but it would definitely bring a while. The amount of salt that become toxic is pretty large, and it would thieve a long time for the salt surrounded by water to form its way into your system since it's dissolved and diluted. Also, cell have a greater tolerance to brackish than, say, the poison surrounded by poison dart frogs, which is specifically engineered to be harmful.
No, its the brackish that will get you sick. Same near anything, if there is too much saline in anything, youll win sick. Just don't drink it.
the human skin is impermeable, plan it cannot absorb liquid, the problem with these chemicals is that they burn trough your skin. Since the skin consists of a two layer, once the chemical burns trough the epidermis it can enter your body, this happens most of the time not because of "burning" but because of some other mode. so prolonged ocean swimming will not poison you, but spending too much time within the water will really cause spoil to your skin
Nixitee has it right, except that pressure also plays apart. For example, if a those heart stopped beating, the bodies pressure would become indeterminate and allow the salt hose to penetrate the skin and occupy like a sponge.
Think of your skin as a permiable membrane that allows particle to pass wager on and forth.
To some degree, the skin have to allow whatever comes surrounded by contact with it into the blood stream because of its pourous and sponge resembling qualities. If the molecules of the poison, brackish in the wet, etc. are smaller than the pours in the skin, later they are absorbed.
Edit: This obviously only applies to Earthlings. Some extraterrestrial humans apparently hold sealed double layered skin that doesn't breathe or sweat. I form a group from the above post that their skin is like metal and just allows burning acid to break into it. Humans on Earth have skin which have 7 layers.
It's call Osmosis. your body has skin cell these cells push and verbs liquids surrounded by and out of the cell by your Rhibozomes in your cell clean up the dirt and grime. The permeable wall of the cell uses elevated concentrations and puts low concentrations of solvents (salt) ... so the movement is from low to high concentrations exerting it from the cell.
