How can I accomplish this?
Should I major within something medical for college?
Answer:
I chuckle to think of how you'll NOT be smiling when you in reality start living the life of a surgical intern. It's a rough existence for few years, but if you want it, you'll formulate it through.
Take sciences in soaring school, achieve excellent grades, but don't forget to have fun. Ditto for college. You can foremost in anything, as long as you fulfill the medical academy pre-requisites. Again, don't forget to enjoy duration - you'll never have the unpredictability to be young and happy again.
RIght now, basically concern yourself with doing all right in big school and finding a honest college.
Best of luck!
I want to be a surgeon as well. I am also a sophmore, but they don't proposal anatomy until my senior year. You could major contained by any form of science, especially biology or chemistry.
actually, your foremost will not be important. science and math majors are devoted, but many places look for well-rounded students. even an english focal will be fine.
the important entry is your MCAT. This is like the SAT. But while the SAT is a illustrious school exam to draw from into college, MCAT is Medical College Admission Test and a good chalk up is necessary to get hold of into medical school.
It may be a well-mannered idea to start looking into medical colleges to check out in that admission requirements.
Also, once you enjoy entered medical college, you will call for to choose an area of study. I'm not sure give or take a few surgeons, but it might be a good perception to check out family practice or internal drug.
Hope this helps!
discuss to your school counselor and one at the university where on earth you wish to shift to.
You needn't do much special for now. Enjoy soaring school. In college, you'll want to pilfer a certain number of courses that are required. If you own a good counsellor within college, he'll help, but you can find the information (and like mad more) on this website: http://www.aamc.org . You'll spend college getting ready for medical conservatory, and needn't worry in the order of anything specifically having to do beside surgery. Medical school is nearly the same for everybody. General surgery is a five-year residency after medical university, and that's where you'll swot up your trade. Best of luck to you.
