Can you direct me to a clear simple but acurate diagram of the intersection of the windpipe and the esophagus....?

....i want to try and work out exactly where i perceive a constriction of my breath and throat and what the various bits of the throats tubes and valve are called.

also, surrounded by simple language how abundant junctions or flaps are in that in the tube that go to the stomach.....BETWEEN THE TONGUE AND JUST BEFORE IT REACHES THE STOMACH?
my condition has nil to do with the windpipe, but is related specifically to a fork somewhere along the esophagus, around the adams apple area.
i'm trying to work out if its the larynx, eppiglottis or even something else specifically the central location of this constricted reaction...it is definately to do with A spout or flap of skin in the throat/neck...but i cant work out if theres one or two movable flaps of skin along this tube between the tongue and the stomach.

perchance you could describe in words the route food take to the stomach and the junctions [or valves] it pass through on the way?

Answers:    I've posted two sites for you which I'm sure will back you to understand the integral process.

The first is the whole Gastro-intestinal tract from the mouth to the anus.

When food enter the mouth, after chewing the only flap it comes to since the stomach is the epiglottis, it's situated at the base of the tongue, and it closes rotten the windpipe during swallowing to prevent food from entering it and causing choking.

The food pass down the oesophagus by the action of peristalsis, the simply thing that comes between the oesophagus and the stomach, is the cardiac sphyncter, a circular muscle that stops food endorsement from the stomach back into the oesophagus.

If you are have trouble with swallowing, which I suspect is the satchel, that's called dysphagia, and to be precise what my second site concentrates on.

Whatever your problem is, your doctor is your first port of call,
in that are numerous ways of investigating the problem, firstly by just looking down the throat beside a torch, the second is endoscopy which is a tube that can be put further into the throat, that has a reading light and camera on it, and lastly what is called a barium swallow.

That's similar to a barium banquet, but standing upright, you swallow a mouthful of Barium suspension and below fluroscopy and x-rays the passage of barium can be monitored from the mouth to the stomach.
