Petrie Dish - How do I produce a simple gel to grow germs ?

I have to come up beside a "broth" that people can sort at home. Would the gel that comes from cooking bones work ? How do I refine it, strain it to get it verbs and clear and sterile ? (Do fish bones work also ?) What's the best material ? Would it be better freshly to use a clear "jello". Does it come "clear" under some other brand than Jello ? Do I append sugar or anything else - if so how much ? What's the general "theory"
in the region of the "stuff that goes within a petrie dish ? Would a plastic container from a supermarket item (e.g. chicken livers) be just as obedient ?
How does the type of material I want to grow, affect what I use as the gel ? The germs will likely come from the human body, mouth, scraped stale teeth, skin, scalp, nose, etc.
Has anyone made a nice photographically supported page on the network about doing this ? If so where on earth. (Take your time, I don't need an answer for a week.)

Answers:    you can use unflavored gelatin - purely look for something like Knox brand within any grocery store
