X-ray be not discovered at all until 1895, by Wilhelm Conrad R"ontgen. I won't even move about into the history of cancer and its treatment, although it was around the dawn of the 20th century that it was discovered that X-ray could not with the sole purpose diagnosis cancer and cure it... but cause it as economically. I believe radiation therapy for cancer be first done about 1899 or 1900.
