College is expensive. And that's just the first 4 years. You later have another 4 years of medical conservatory.

There are lots of good university in New England. Where you should step will depend on where your famly is, what you want to study (pre-med surrounded by NOT a major - you enjoy to major within something else) and what you can afford.

Well, med school is really expensive. State school (for instate residents) range from conceivably 20K/yr to 40K/yr. Private schools are much more... they can be up to roughly speaking 50K/yr just for tuition. There are tons good school in NE nouns. U Conn, BU, Harvard if you are that good.... anyway, in that are a LOT of good university in NE.
Cost will ebb and flow based on where on earth you go. $40,000 will probably buy you one year at a private conservatory. If you get into a public conservatory in your state of residence tuition will be greatly lower. However, out of state public schools could cost matching or even more than a private school (usually newly to keep non-state residents out. There are a ton of great school in New England, Boston is a huge place for biomedial research and have a couple of medical schools. My best proposal is for you to pick up the MSAR (Medical School Admission Requirements) published by the AAMC. It usually comes out in unsettled April or early May and give great details about respectively medical school by state (GPA, MCAT averages, class size, setting, cost, app fees, etc...).
depending on where on earth you want to go, a state institution (if you are a resident of that state) it may cost 10K a year plus books and fees...+ living expenses (figure 20K a year) if you want to go to a state university (non resident -- figure 30K a year)
if you want to step to an ivy league place (Harvard....) figure 30,000 a year fro arts school and 15,000 a year to survive...
