How does ferritin determine haemoglobin count?

My ferritin level is low,I am on ferrous sulphate but my haemoglobin count is commonplace, what does this mean?

Answer:
It lone means that you don't own iron-deficienct anemia. Otherwise they're not related. Without more information about you, it is complicated to impossible to tell you anything else besides that. There is credible a cause for your low iron, and you will expected get further test to figure that out.
Ferritin is the storage form of iron. It simply method your iron stores are low, even if the mobilized iron in your blood is run of the mill.
Basically it means the ferrous sulphate is working to increase the amount of iron available within your body to make Haemoglobin (Hb) and stop you becoming anaemic, if your ferritin is low your bodies stores of iron are not on the other hand back to common and you need to verbs treatment for everything to get pay for to normal.

Haemoglobin (Hb) contains more or less two thirds of the bodies Iron, and needs iron (in the haem bit of the molecule) within order to function correctly (i.e. get oxygen around the body).
The iron in the Hb comes from your bloods stores, and Ferritin is a sea soluble protein that is one of these stores.
If ferritin is low you hold low iron stores, this will be why you are on ferrous sulphate (to increase the iron available in you blood, which can after make Hb)

I guess that since treatment began you have Iron Deficient Anaemia (IDA) where you do not enjoy enough iron within the body to make Hb You probably initially have both low ferritin and low haemoglobin levels, probably also beside smaller red cells (a low MCV and low MCH on the blood test)
The defence you needed ferrous sulphate would be to increase the amount of iron available for making the Hb.
Once you started getting iron (from the ferrous sulphate) the body would first get your Hb wager on to normal because you inevitability Hb in the blood to transport oxygen around. Once Hb is normal your ferritin level can then start to increase. The following links may be adjectives
