Why do bloodpressure cuffs oscillate their reading base arm diameter/cuff ratio?

If a cuff is a regular size adult cuff, and it is placed on a long-suffering who has a huge arm diameter, it will read higher. But if you put a massive cuff on the same arm, the pressure will be smaller amount. What makes the difference, through physics?

Thanks and God bless.

Answers:    the deep-seated answer is that the smaller diameter cuff is the wrong size and therefore not as accurate. thats why nearby isnt a one size fits all cuff.

the smaller cuff dosent cover plenty area of the arm and will hand over a higher reading, because in attendance is more tissue/fat/muscle mass to read through.
