Wondering if anyone have tried this antidepressant nortriptyline,, its a tricyclic?

saw an article where a guy have tried most of the ssri antidepressants and none worked, he tried nortriptyline, a tricyclic and it worked for him, also I mainly own insomnia and I have read it worked for that

Answer:
Nortriptyline is an oldie but goodie. You may also enjoy heard of amitriptyline, which is somewhat metabolized to nortriptyline. If the insomnia is primary, you don't want to use this as a sleep aid, but if you're depressed, then an antidepressant next to sedative properties is without fault appropriate. The polycyclics still have a role contained by treatment, but those of us who remember treating tricyclic overdoses in the days in the past SSRI's don't miss doing that at all. Nasty.
