Does a medication of antibiotic exposed out of its foil covering lose it's potency, even if it's not expired?

I have a strip of amoxicillin bought around a year ago, which expires 2008 pa, but my four year aged popped open adjectives the foil covers! I just kept it. Does it lose it's potency or become spoiled?
