Disadvantages to prenatal screening??

thanks alot:)

Answers:    The in-depth screening to be precise now one conducted in hospitals seem to go means of access beyond checking that the baby is simply ok and seems to be more geared up to providing doctors near a series of guinea-pigs. A member of my line was told that the infant may have this or that condition at the first scan, governing to far more (and invasive) tests, after which it be concluded that the baby be in certainty normal. It have spoilt her first pregnancy, caused significant anxiety and run the risk of miscarriage. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
My answer is similar to the 1st response. I know a woman in a dignified risk pregnancy who was tested (understandably). These test led to further test, the test results concluded that her child be severely deformed, would be mentally retarded, there be a high possibility that the infant would die soon following birth.....on and on. This mother, who be all in position stressed and at risk, was further stressed base upon the results of these tests. She agonized over the decree to even maintain the pregnancy and be even advised to cancel due to the extent of the infants "deformities". She decided to carry her child and concluded her pregnancy in a state of big anxiety and emotion awaiting the birth of a child who may or may not live and be "assuredly" not the bundle of joy that she and her husband be expecting at conception. Amazingly enough, at birth her son be absolutely and 100% run of the mill, none of the screenings and tests have been correct. In essence this family's first pregnancy have been ruined by conducting tests, not to mention that the normal and fit child might have be terminated based upon false positive results from these test. This situation happened concluding year 2006 in the United States, so I can simply assume that practices/procedures used with her are commonly used surrounded by most modern hospitals/clinics.
