Gallbladder? have you had these symptoms?

i have sharp shooting pain on the left side of my chest, into my neck and shoulder for about a week. When It started I went to the er- they diagnosed me with GERD and sent me home. I went back a few days later after no relief- I had an ekg done as well as a chest xray. both of which were normal. I thought maybe it could be indigestion but antacids (pepto, zantac and prevacid) are not helping. I was given a prescription of naprosyn and vicodin. The vicodin does not help however the naprosyn does. I am going to see my family doc on monday.. but the thought of not knowing exactly what is going on is driving me nuts! Does anyone have any thoughts

Answer:
Left sided chest pain radiating up to the neck and shoulder is concerning for cardiac issues in origin. However, if this was angina or even a heart attack, there would have been EKG changes on the second visit.

Yes it could be GERD or an ulcer. As for the gallbladder, it rarely could refer to the left side.

Seeing your family doctor is the best way to proceed. An ultrasound could be ordered to look at your gallbladder and see if there are issues there.

Good luck and I hope you recover quickly.
My thought? It has nothing to do with your gall bladder, and yes it does sound like reflux. You have to give prescription pills time to work if you want results. YOUR FINE. The stress is only going to add more to your problem.
left sided chest pain radiating to your neck and shoulder is suspicious for angina. pain from the gallbladder is usually on the right side. gerd is also a possibility but if you're saying that the antacids don't help, i think you need to get a better cardiac evaluation. sometimes an ekg doesn't always pick up ischemic heart disease.
You may have a pulled muscle in your neck or your lower back if the pain is shooting from your shoulder to your neck, or you may have a pulled disk? Ask your Doc if you can get an MRI done.
But pretty sure it is not your gallbladder.
