What is to be expected when trying to get off of lortabs after taking them for 2 yrs. straight.?

Answer:
Withdrawal symptoms are a strong possibility. Of course each person experiences withdrawal differently, there are some basics:

Nausea, vomiting, cravings, depression, sweating, insomnia, anxiety, etc. Long term opioid usage can also cause a decrease in endorphin production, so small pain may be amplified and exaggerated. I would talk to your physician, he maybe able to taper the dosage so that the withdrawal symptoms are not as severe (takes some self discipline though).
I took lortabs for two years and had no problem, because I stopped them when the pain was gone
