While we're redesigning though, I would manufacture the rib cage stronger and heavier beside less space between the ribs and move the lungs lower down to engineer space for the brain. Would be nice to make the brain crescent shaped going away enough space to fit the lungs and the heart lower than the ribs. You would also need a diaphragm between the brain and the lungs so that the brain is not subjected to pressure change with respectively breath.
