I understand that they are facinating (I've see over two dozen now and enjoy even 'helped' out on a couple) but you need to comprehend why they exist. The primary reason for the PM is to firmly and accurately determine the raison d`¨ētre of death [i.e. Heart Attack] and factor that led up to that passing [i.e. Athrosclerosis of the cardiac arteries]. The secondary rationale is to teach doctors and medical students in the region of disease-- for example, allowing a student to feel near their own fingers what a scelrotic heart valve is approaching and hence see how that incompetent valve can front to a person's death.
You also requirement to understand the ethical side of the picture. This is someone's dad, or mum, or daughter. Do you be aware of you have a right to intrude on their grief for your own titilation? Probably not.
However, contained by the UK:
1) Must be 18 years old or over
2) Must enjoy the permission of the pathologist doing the PM
3) MUST be a medical student (extends to the clean UK physician assistant), doing a medical type degree (medical illustration etc.), or a doctor of drug (exceptions SOMETIMES happen for nurses or paramedics, but seldom in my experience. I've have loads of nurses ask me if I can get them into a PM, and the answer from the pathologist have always be a loud, firm NO!! [emphasis not mine])
4) Exceptions exist for police officers and for officer of the coroners courts.
Nurses and paramedics are not deemed as required to consider a PM as their jobs are treatment base and not diagnosically based-- i.e. they react to symptoms and don't call for to worry almost causes, usually. (Yes, I know that paramedics and nurses do very soon work as 'practitioners' these days and the rules around PM's might switch, but not yet)
Why do you want to watch one? If it's purely for interest, forget it! NOBODY in prescription will help you if this is the casing.

(Having said adjectives that, you could try and talk to a pathologist and see if they will allow you to scrutinize one, but I doubt you'd find even a single one that would allow it. They could be fired and possibly struck off the GMC register [who can strike you sour even if what you did is NOT illegal].)
