Has anyone ever have a goiter removed and what are the side effects or drawbacks?
Answer:
after removal of the glant you have to purloin Thyroxin (the hormone produced by the thyroid ) because there are no other sourses . side effects of thyroxin are several and include sweating , feeling of fry , increased heart beat but dont verbs you will get use to these and will not be that much a concern .

Many culture have have surgery for removing a goiter. They need to run many medication that have side effects. Other than that, they front normal, joyous lives.
I had a friend who have a goiter removed.She did fine after operation taking religiously the prescribed medication for maintenance dose. The single side effect resulted is the change of her voice which become a bit harsh, otherwise adjectives the rest was middle-of-the-road.
My neighbor just have goiter operation, but its only be a week. has like mad of thyroid trouble .
