Normal to have pain in leg where dvt is 2 months after starting blood thinners?
Answer:
No - it's odd.
It might be persistence of the DVT or it might be something else (? ruptured baker's cyst or whatever).
If it troubles you - go see your family doctor about it and they should arrange an ultrasound, I think is most likely.
Take painkillers also. Paracetamol (ie acetaminophen) or ibuprofen if you are able to.
If you develop any of the following - don't wait to see your doctor but go directly to an emergency room:
chest pain
noticeable shortness of breath
coughing blood
no, i hope you have let your doctor know you are still having problems.
you can try to do whats call Homan's sign on your self:
while sitting, pull your toes upward, like your trying to point them towards your nose.
if you have pain in your calf muscle, thats a sign of a clot.
also if your calf has any swelling, hot to the touch, or is red in color its a problem.
DVT's can be dangerous b/c if you have a clot, and it starts to move in your blood stream, it could cause a heart attack, pulmonary embolism, or stroke. please go to your doctor is you think this is a possiblity
