Sleep pills on an useless stomach?

I have to shift in for surgery within a couple days and can't eat anything 24 hrs back. I want to take a sleep pill resembling Tylenol PM or Simply Sleep the night until that time b/c I can never sleep on an empty stomach plus I will be bothered. Is it safe to pocket a sleeping pill if I haven't eaten anything that daytime?

yes i have and cart Tylenol pm also and on an empty stomach. and despise to go to bed on an senseless stomach too but 24 hrs seem to be a long time near out food maybe you could ask you doctor i single could not eat or drink for 12 hrs
