Is taking the pill harmful?

can it affect you having children in the future?

Answer:
There is no clinical evidence that the Pill affects fertility.
When a woman is ready to become pregnant, she should consult her healthcare professional and stop taking her birth control pills. Most women experience a rapid return to fertility.
Opinions are varied on this topic. The majority view is that with the correct dosage (see your doctor) there should not be a problem. Other opinions say that you should take a break or change the pill after three years. Good loving!.
Nope and nope!
There were, indeed, some problems 20 years ago roughly, but these problems were fixed meanwhile.

However, much as they say, ask a doctor's advice; that's because there are so many pills and so many women... and not every combination works well.
what pill ?
Near future yes, that is the reason you are taking the pill to keep from getting pregnant.

There are many chemicals that can stop you from getting pregnant. The science on the pill is now about 40 years old and has changed for the better quite a bit. All and all a safe way to go with only slight chance of problems later. Do plan to give your body a good two to three years off the pill before you want to have a child. Give your child every chance possible to be an excellent person.

Know your self and know your partners. See your doctor if there is even the slightest chance that new people have joined your sexual interaction net. Anything bad you want to stop ASAP.

There are other factors which may effect your safety while taking the pill, such as smoking, other medications, your weight, general health, etc. Talk it over with your GYN. If she's not willing to discuss safety and risk, find a GYN who is more interested in your concerns. I've pasted a link to a frequently asked questions site, sponsored by the Mayo Clinic. It's very informative.

Best wishes and be careful out there!
No...you should go back to normal soon after getting off the pill. I got pregnant one month after stopping the pill and I've been on it for 15 years. Good luck! You'll be fine.
I know in the 80's the pill then could cause blood clots in the leg that would be potentially fatal if they travelled to the heart, lungs or brain. More recently the change in oestrogen levels is linked with increased risk of breast cancer. I know it was recommended that it should only be taken for a limited period of time. If taken over a prolonged period it apparently could cause sterility. Your Dr should be able to advice you or your local women's health clinic.
you are more likely to get bloodclots if you take the pill and smoke. So yes.
dont go near it. of course it is harmful...studies have linked it to various types of cancers.
More women die every year from taking the pill, than die from the use of Ecstasy
