Scar tissue consists of collagen as the main protein which is identical to that present in the skin.In normal skin collagen are randomly oriented in different dirrection, irrespective of epithelial cell growth, and in a scar, collagen is alligned in the same way as the epitheliocytes which are newly formed after the granulosa cell appear and neovascularisation takes place.Collagen deposition is triggered by the fibroblasts which appear where there is a blood clot.
