Cold chill up your spine?

Hey docs, what causes that chill to move about up my spine when the weather is nipping? What is that sensation chemically?

Answers:    Spasmodic muscular contractions are one route the body heats itself, so it's a pure reaction to cold or especially cold wind
which are more 'chilling'.
Think about the chills (muscle contractions) you hold with the flu. In that situation the body is heat up - causing an increase contained by body temperature which we nickname a fever.
It's not so much chemical as it is a neuromuscular reflex. (Though neuromuscular reflex are mediated by chemicals - esp, acetylcholine)

I don't know the medical explanation, but the out-of-date wives' tale (superstition) say it means someone have walked right over the intensely spot where your unresponsive, cold body will eventually be buried years from now. If you live a long, fruitfull life span, (hopefully), then you should die of outdated age, maybe contained by your early 70s or beyond.
