As for your virginity, technically, you're a virgin until you've have sexual intercourse. So even if you do break your cherry with a tampon, you'll still be a virgin.
You should probably try some of the smaller junior sizes for the first few period. And if you have problems inserting them surrounded by the first few tries, a little lubricant on the tampon applicator may gross it easier for you.

The hymen is located outside of the vagina. It's a diaphanous stretchy layer of tissue near an opening. Using tampons can stretch or rupture it but you probably won't notice, most women don't. Part of the hymen usually remains until a women have given birth vaginally.
