I'm 47 years old and going through menopause. I have noticed I feel so drained during the day.?
Answer:
I'm 45 and I have the same problem, and I see that there are hardly any answers. I recently made an appt with a GYN doctor, so I will find out what is causing the fatigue. It is only getting worse. I take a nap every day after work, and I still feel drained when I get up in the morning. Menapause was my not even on my list of REASONs. A month ago, I read an article that mentioned fatigue with menapause, so thats how I made an appt with a GYN doctor.
Normal, but you might want to check with your OBGYN doctor just to make sure it's nothing else.
This can happen but be sure to get a good physical to rule out any other problems causing this. I take a very good multivitamin so I don't have a problem with this. See your doc first and then consider changing to a better mulitvitamin that gives you more energy etc.
Try Black Cohosh and/or Quang Gong (chinese herbs).

Avoid taking estrogens derived from horses (ie. Prempro, Premarin- they have been linked to breast cancer).
Your progesterone levels have diminished dramatically (in menopausal women, levels often drop to zero). If you do not ovulate, you will not produce progesterone.
To help you better understand the implications of reduced progesterone production due to menopause, read about the functions of progresterone at

Some women feel black cohosh (marketed as Estroven and Remifemin) help reduce many menopause symptoms. The websites for these two supplements often offer free 2-week samples. DO NOT take supplements without consulting your physician first; some supplements may exacerbate existing medical conditions and may be contraindicated if you are on other medications.
Please speak to your physician regarding menopausal symptoms and ways (both natural and pharmaceutical) to address these symptoms.
I personally am not going through menopause but my Mother is. And her symptoms are hot flashes, fatigue, missed and irregular periods, sore breasts, and so on. She is currently not taking anything for it right now because i think she doesnt want to believe she is actually going through her "change" but she is for sure going through it.
