Tampon troubles, please help me =/?

ok so i got my period a few days ago and today my mom got me some tampax pearsl tampons. i put it in and it felt really akward and wierd but not painful. so i get up walking and i could feel the tampon there so i knew it wasnt in right. then i got dizzy, face got pale, and i was sweating and got extreamly hot. (this happened to my sister too when she first tried tampons) my mom told me to relax and to go take it out since it wasnt correctly in. but when i went to take it out it hurt horriblyyyyyyyy and my sister told me it was because the tampon had no liquid in it (aka blood im guessig?) and tampons that are used pretty much slide out easily.

so can anyone please help me. i wanna try again but im really scarred and nervous. i just feel really uncomfortable with it and i dont know why i didnt put it in right...

Answer:
I'm not sure, but I'm guessing you getting dizzy, etc. was you panicking because you knew your tampon wasn't in right. It's never fun to use them the first time, but as time goes on they'll become your best friends.
If you insert the tampon properly, you shouldn't be able to feel it after its in. My first few times I didn't push it all the way in, and it was extremely uncomfortable. To get it in properly, the first thing you need to do is RELAX. If your vaginal muscles are contracted, it's going to be tighter and more diffucult to get in. After you're calm, find a comfortable position (try squatting over the toilet or putting one leg up on the bathrub or toilet seat). Begin to put the tampon in at a slight angle (backwards from you). Push it in gently, and once the top half of the applicator is in, slowly push in the inner tube. This puts the cotton part of the tampon inside you where it will absorb the most blood. Once you can't push the inner tube anymore, simply take it out and throw it away (this part shouldn't hurt) but be sure to not pull the string.
You shouldn't take out your tampon for AT LEAST an hour after you put it in, before then it will hardly have absorbed any blood, and it will hurt VERY badly to take out because it is so dry. But never leave the tampon in for over 6 hours to prevent getting TSS. To take it out, just pull the string slowly. It feels a bit awkward at first, but as long as it isn't dry, it should not hurt.
Continue getting Tampax Pearl, the plastic applicators make inserting them really easy, and get Lites until you're comfortable enough with tampons to begin using bigger sizes.
If next time you want to use a tampon you need help remembering how to properly insert it, there should be a sheet inside the box telling you step by step how to do so.
Good luck, and don't get discouraged. Tampons aren't as scary as they seem. =]
Just relax completely..it will work fine for you.millions of women do it everyday and it works perfectly. Just try again.
Maybe you should try pads. Just hold the tampon & slide it in until your fingers touch your vagina, then push in the tampon. if it still doesn't feel right then just tell your mother you want pads instead.
Look at the diagram that comes with them. You will notice they do not go straight in but need to be angled towards the small of your back. Also ask your sister to show you the proper way to insert them.
ok well i use platex which opens all the way pearls onlhy opens width wise so try those but if u get dizzy again just use pads
there is a fold out paper in the box mostlikly and it shows you pictures and is really helpful
well the pale, dizziness, sweating is just nerves sweetie..it just takes some practice.i really learned how to put mine in with a mirror and the directons..my mom was never home so i just learned.if you have to take it out again and it hasn't been in long if you can get in the tub to take it out that way it will have some liquid to it...but really it just takes practice...but a tampon is not going to cause you dizziness sweating and paleness unless you are talking about TSS and that is rare..
Tampons aren't for everyone. Don't feel embarrassed. If you don't like them, don't use them. Ask mum to get you some slim fitting pads to stick in your knickers instead. No worries.

I hate tampons too. If you get nervous, your vagina will tighten and they will hurt to insert. Its not worth the hassle.
the problem probably is that your mom didn't get the smallest size, those for girls who are just starting do not use the bigger tampons, and only use after you have started to menstruate!
First of all you should not have any side effects from wearing a tampon. The dizziness and sweating is not normal. When you insert it you should not feel it. If you feel the tip of it, as if it is coming out, that means it was not inserted far enough. When you take it out, you need to relax all your muscles. It may take a little while but you need to just relax your belly muscles so it can come out. Try sitting on the toilet and just relax. Take the string and pull down towards the water. Don't think about it just pull slow and stop if you feel yourself tensing. The key to learning to insert and removing tampons is just relaxing.
Before you use the tampon again you really need to read the toxic shock warning. You can always use the pad and not have all the anxiety.. Be careful with your symptoms. Be sure to read the warning signs.. If you do decide to try again, then here is a tip, sometimes if you stand with one foot on the tub you are able to insert it easier. Don't try to do it too fast. Just let it ease in to the right position. Hope this helps.
lucky you. when i put in a tampon i faint, go out completely. and now terrified to do it again. no one else faints. so you should be fine. have confidence and if the applicator goes out a little that is your hymen streching so push it in more until it stays ther then push the acctuall tampon in. good luck
Tampons can be tricky at first. For the first day of your period, I would just use pads. The second day, when your flow is probably a little heavier, try inserting the tampon. It will probably go in more easily. Also, use your finger instead of the applicator. I generally find the applicators put it in awkwardly. Just push the bottom of the tampon as far up there as possible until you can't really feel it anymore. Also, make sure you're not using a tampon meant for a heavy flow. That might be too big, especially if you're just starting out. When I first started using tampons, I used SlimFits. They were great! You may have to changed them more often than normal sized ones, but they feel MUCH more comfortable. And remember: tampons just aren't right for some people. It's not the end of the word! Tell your mom you want to switch to pads if the tampon thing isn't really working out for you.
The reason why you are not able to insert the tampon correctly and as easily as other women is because you probably have a tipped uterus.
This is actually pretty common and is nothing to be concerned about.
I am thinking you probably experianced the dizziness and stuff because you were on your period. You may be anemic, which is also very common and easily treatable. in case you don't know what anemia is, it is an iron deficiancy and you can fix the problem by eating more foods that are iron rich or take a iron supplement.
If you have pain while using tampons then don't use them.
A lot of girls don't want to use pads because they have heard that pads are bulky and dirty.
back in the days when my mom was a kid that was probably true, but we have come a long way since then and now you can find pads tat are absorbent enough for heavy flow and overnight but they are very thin and comfortable. As for pads being dirty, well again maybe a long time ago but now they are very absorbant.
I have suffered from something called endometriosis ( spelling ?) for most of the time I have had a period and with this nifty little disorder comes EXTREMLY heavy bleeding and the most awful cramping you can never imagine. I have had babies and the cramps from endometriosis are by far way worse.
Anyway because of the disorder along with my tipped uterus I have never been able to comfortably wear tampons so I used pads.
I am telling ya it isn't that bad.
granted I didn't go to school the first 4 days of my period because of the pain and heavy bleeding but I did have to work when I got older and the type of work I do is very physical ( bar manager ) and I still had no problems with wearing a pad vs a tampon.
Besides, your menstrual flow is supposed to flow out of your body not be plugged up by a tampon.
If you continue to have pain then you should see your doctor, they have pills that can reduce your period to just a day or two.
maybe it's not the tampon you felt it could have been the string so try Playtex gentle glide it is so comfortable you can't even feel it.:)
